No Excuses November!

Saw this this morning on PlanetGear.com facebook page and I had to share with all of you!

Read this article HERE that talks all about No Excuses November.

Goal is to make no more excuses this month. Set two goals for yourself. One to achieve in November and the other to achieve by the end of the year.

I've always thought the best way to achieve and stick to your goals is share them with others. I shared them on facebook and now here. For November I want to stick to my training plan and get all my key runs done so I can have an awesome PR at Las Vegas RnR half. For the rest of the year I want to meet my goal of running 1000 miles this year and hopefully surpass it! I'm about 100 miles away so I just have to keep running even after the race in December. What do you think... is 1200 possible? If I run 100 miles this month and 100 next month it is :)

The article had some great quotes...

"Procrastination is the grave that success is buried in."

"Someday is not a day of the week."

"You don't have to see the whole staircase, just take the first step." - Martin Luther King Jr.

All of these remind me of a picture I saw posted on Dirty Dash facebook page yesterday...

This is what I need to tell myself when I'm getting home from work and even though the first thing on my mind is a run, it's the last thing on my list of stuff I have to get done.

Will you participate in No Excuses November?? What will your goals be? Please share!

  1. I love the No Excuses November idea. Thanks for sharing!

SO my goals...hmmmm. My initial thoughts are:

November: Go on an evening run with a local running group that I keep thinking of trying out.

Year: Commit to a half (or full) marathon for the Spring...as in sign up and put it on my calendar so I can't back out of it.

  2. I love this! I especially love that quote "someday is not a day of the week." I often fall into that and say things like "someday I will run a sub 1:50 half" and "someday I'll crush a 4:15 marathon" etc. I need to set actual deadlines.
